Ivan Maes (1975) entered into service as an accountant in 2008 and he has been partner at Bol since 2016. His work is focused on diverse audit and advisory services. Ivan has also been appointed as an external auditor, which authorizes him to perform auditing on financial statements. Many of these audits have an international character. In addition, Ivan is responsible for the integration and application of the IT-audit at Bol Adviseurs. Contact with clients and finding solutions together with clients, appeals to him most to his work. Ivan finds it important to make sense and he will only be satisfied when the client is.

Education and career

Ivan graduated as Master in Business & Economics at Maastricht University in 1999. Shortly after his graduation, he started his career as an assistant accountant at Ernst & Young. He has worked there on complex projects for over ten years, often with international aspects. In 2006, he obtained his postdoctoral degree and he became register accountant. Furthermore, he was included in the audit register. Parallel to his job at Bol Adviseurs, Ivan is professor at Maastricht University, where he teaches Financial Auditing to postdoctoral register accountants.

qualifications and experience

Ivan represents Bol Adviseurs at meetings of the international partnership the Leading Edge Alliance. He is an active member of the special interest group “International Audit”. In addition, he has been part of the supervisory board of a large healthcare institute in the Dutch province of Limburg. Ivan was connected to the departments of Housing Corporations and Real Estate for many years.

Other relevant information

In his spare time, Ivan is a socially involved person. He has gained various administrative experiences at various foundations and associations.
